Entry work starts with measurement. We measure from the finished floor down to the ground and split that height into even risers. That tells us how many steps you need and what the tread depth should be so the whole set feels natural to walk.

Next, we remove whatever is failing underneath. That can be old concrete, loose fill, or soft soil. We rebuild the base with compacted material so the new steps and landing have solid support. Then we set forms for each riser, tread, and landing edge. If the steps tie into a house slab or porch slab, we add rebar where it makes sense so the pieces work together.

When the prep is right, we pour the concrete from the bottom up. We fill the forms, strike each surface, and clean up the edges and corners. On landings and porches, we build a slight slope away from the door and siding so water doesn’t sit against the house. The surface gets a broom finish or another grip finish, depending on the entry and how it’s used.

After the concrete cures, we strip the forms and clean up. If the sides need it, we backfill and compact around the steps so they don’t end up sitting next to loose soil that settles later.
